The founding mobile app behind a NASDAQ-listed wholesale marketplace.
ACV Auctions is a live, app-based wholesale marketplace that lets dealers inspect and bid on vehicles in real time from the lot. I built the founding mobile application that turned a slow, in-person auction process into a transparent mobile transaction.
Wholesale auto auctions were slow, physical, and opaque. Dealers had to be on-site to inspect and bid, and trust depended on being in the room. That model didn't scale and didn't translate to a national market.
I built the founding mobile application — a live, app-based auction that let dealers inspect and bid on vehicles in real time from anywhere. The product made condition transparent and bidding immediate, collapsing an in-person process into a mobile transaction.
The early product helped the company win the top prize at the world's largest business-plan competition, and ACV went on to a public listing on the NASDAQ under the ticker ACVA.
